Moore Industries' Universal 535..¼ DIN PID Process Controller Handles Batch and Continuous Processes

Moore Industries' universal Single Loop PID Process Controller programs to monitor and control temperature, pressure, level, flow and other analog variables for batch and continuous processes.

Available models provide an isolated analog (4-20mA or 0-20mA) control signal output that is typically used to regulate a control valve or similar final control element. Also available are models with alarm trip outputs that can be used for on/off control or to warn of unwanted high/low conditions. Optional RS-485 communications allows interface with
digital-communicating DCS, PLC and PC-based SCADA systems.

Quick and easy setup is achieved using the processor's large, back-lit keys and user-friendly menu prompts. This extra-bright front panel display meets NEMA 4X requirements.

The 535's patented PowerTune® feature delivers pretuning, adaptive tuning, and powerback anti-overshoot. PowerTune constantly analyzes the process and makes modifications to the tuning parameters to ensure precise, long-term and stable control.

An 8000 member strong group that is concerned with electrical energy efficiency from power generation to its use in lighting and HVAC. Lots of good links to certification groups, instructional/education support and meeting of interest.

Fante's Kitchen Works (Philadelphia, PA-USA-In the heart of The Italian Market!)
For all kinds of Cooking, Candy, Jelly, Freezer & Fridge, Frothing and Fork thermometers, plus about the most interesting and extensive web site on kitchen accessories we have ever seen. If you are in Philly, this is a must visit! (A frothing thermometer, by the way is used to gauge the correct temperature in frothing of the milk for Cappuccino)
(We've had this site listed for quite a while, but only recently went on the web and visited in person for a close-up. For anyone interested in cooking, candy making, jelly making or just plain interested in tools for preparing food!)

The Globe Program-
A unique science education site that features interesting aspects of global temperatures, teaching aids and much more. from the USA government agency NOAA.

(The) Handbook of Chemistry & Physics
The original from CPC Publishing with a free trial offer that is hard to refuse if you are just curious or absolutely need to know some critical scientific fact or constant right now.

High Temperatures- High Pressures
A refereed journal that specializes in the topics described by its name. Has long been a source of excellent papers on high temperature topics in radiation thermometery-- a publication of Pion, Ltd , London-UK.

Virtual Engineer
An awesome engineering resources site.

Thermocouple Information Resources Page

Introduction to and tons of downloads about thermocouples
Including thermocouple tables, RTD tables and polynomials all in .pdf format - covers Thermocouples and much more. Most of it very good stuff--From a big US manufacturer that sometimes modifies its page links without notice! This is probably the last time we will use them as a reference if they change again in the next year.

Rudy Rudolph, Temperature Consultant ,
A new web site contains a brief but excellent summary on just what emissivity is in terms that the average technical person can understand. He even gives some very practical advice on how to get a quick estimate of the emissivity value. Please remember, you must measure carefully and because we have no control over how careful you are or how well you follow his advice, any errors you encounter are your responsibility not Rudy's or ours. Things are not always as easy nor as simple as some brief suggestions may imply.

Next Month's Plan And New Contact Numbers

We expect to be able to preview, if not fully present , a new look, feel and more interactive web site for About Temperature Sensors by the beginning of September. Our goal was to have it operational before the October start of the Eighth Temperature Symposium, but work is advancing faster than originally planned, thanks to the help of the experts at Anonymous Productions.

The new site design features more ways for users to inteact easily by suggesting new links and having access to forums. For those who sign up as no-cost members, there are additional features such as proposing content, commenting on content, viewing the member list, access to site statistics and more. Drop in and check on our progress; we think you'll be pleased with the new capabilities.

Speaking of Anonymous Productions, we are using space at their location to do the work and can be reached during the week at their phone: 215-412-8210. In the meanwhile our move to the Philadelphia area is going well; our direct telephone number has changed to 215-275-9940.

COMMENTS and MORE SITE RANKINGS

Notice to PR and Ad staffs in equipment and service companies:

Send us your new product, new staff, and related news releases, please and we'll get them into our queue for release on the site and/or this newsletter.

Listed below are the Alexa Web site rankings at the end of August and the preceeding two months. The rose color indicates that a site became less popular during the month, the green indicates more popular. The numbers provide a quantitative measure of the site popularity according the Alexa ranking system. It is interesting to note that the dominant color is now green; perhaps web usage is up! That's a surprise for a summer month (in the northern hemishpere, that is). Meanwhile, some of the vendor ratings have shown significant changes in the last month, with Indigo Systems, Land Instruments (a huge jump!), Hart Scientific and Ircon gaining popularity and Flir, Raytek, Mikron and Pyromation loosing some. Snell Infrared took a big drop and JMS-Southeast is back on the map with a huge increase. Remember, there are rankings for site out to about number 23 million!)

Plans to implement a special page with longer term and wider coverage of these results have been shelved until the new site software is operational. For the interim we shall continue a three month slice of this most interesting group of Web sites.

We believe companies can improve their visitor rate, sale and marketing operations, sales communications and generate more orders through proper focus on their Web resources. The Internet, especially the Web, is a revolutionary new marketing and business tool. We are redesigning our site to demonstrate just what is possible in the Web even for a small company.

Note from the above Alexa ratings, that this web site consistently acheives a lower ranking (meaning it is more popular) than nearly all the vendors of temperature sensors, with the major exceptions of GlobalSpec and Omega Engineering.

Thanks for visiting.

This is the premier infrared imaging, non-destructive testing and temperature applications meeting held each year the week after Easter in Orlando Florida.

It is held in conjunction with the SPIE AeroSense meeting, a forum for IR detector, military and other highly technical applications. The meeting has been the site for the last two years for the topical meetings of the key subcommittees from ASTM and ANST in addition to the large exhibition of IR equipment and software from all over the world. It is THE place to keep up on IR imaging technology and temperature measurements plus the best place to network with the movers, shakers as well as the doers in this rapidly expanding field of remote measurement technology.
